Heavy on Fashion reads My Townie Heart by Diana Sperrazza

Hello all my fashion divas and gurus! I am so happy to finally bring you another Heavy on Fashion reads post. As you all know I am a lover of books Seriously, I have to buy and read at least 3 books book and comic books a month. Books can take you to places that you never thought you would go.

Today I have the honor of reviewing My Townie Heart by Diana Sperrazza. My Townie Heart takes places in small town in Massachusetts during the 1970's. It circles around Laura DiStefano, a young lady who fluked out of college, has to move back home, an face all the internal and external issues Laura thought she left behind in her small town.

Laura Distefano's family is complicated and dysfunctional, which adds to the drama and humor of Laura's life. This book speaks about how one one girl's journey though family, personal issues, relationships, mental health, physical assault, and finding oneself. My Townie Heart is a great read that showcases the growth of the main character,  Laura Distefano.

My Townie Heart speaks to anyone who is looking for their purpose in life while dealing with the trials and tribulations of the past and present.  Though the book takes place in the 1970's it is totally relate able in 2015. This book is not a self help book, it does make you think about evaluating your purpose, finding what works for you, and finally making the choice. As a girl from a small town myself, I recognized the tone of a small town environment which hit close to home for me.

My Townie Heart by Diana Sperrazza is a great book for book clubs. There are so many issues to drive into in this novel. This book was made to be talked about in a group. The issues surrounding abuse, revenge, drugs, family dysfunction, and more is intense and can bring out a great conversation of these issue in the world today. I would recommend this for your next book club list or for your personal library.
