Hello, all my fashion divas and gurus! Today, I am going to give you a look at the innovative earbuds from Nuheara called IQbuds. I was first introduced to The IQbuds at GetGeeked NYC earlier this year. I was so impressed with the look and tech of this wireless earbuds. These are the smartest headphones I have ever tried. No seriously! These earbuds are insanely smart, hence that name IQbuds.Read More
Hello, all my Fashion divas and gurus! While I am getting all my watermarks on my photos and finishing up on some video editing , here is a few thoughts on some of the bigger designer houses showing off their collections during NYFW!
TomFord - 80′s shoulder and heels + 2010 technique + 70′s sex appeal ( my favorite and realistic runway of the season) - Get Rihanna in that furry Jacket - Give the mini dressed to Ciara ( she has legs for days), Give Monica the long gowns because she can pull this look and short pixie hair.
Calvin Klein - 70′s meets Westworld Tech Cowgirl/boy - I would love to see Alicia Keys and Solange really mix and matching these looks within their wardrobe. Love the collection, sellable and easy to Glam up or casual.
Marc Jacobs - 80′s oversizing meets African traditional dress meets Black American Street Fashion - Black/African people been doing this since forever..nothing new about this. The presentation was nice but Marc Jacobs is taking staple fashion trends are known in Black America and African culture and slapping his label on it. I am super disappointed.
Alexander Wang - The music was crazy good! Straight 90's and Iove it! It was L.A party meet all the things I love ( black, studs and leggings!) Just go out and buy it! Great for the fall and spring.
Oscar De La Renta - Young, romantic yet classic! Super buyable and pop-artist feel. Great lines and love the use of oversize script and flower embellishments. Tons of color blocking, splatter paint, embroidery, and sequin makes this collection appeal to all audiences. Great Award show dresses in this collection. I would buy if it can in plus size; Hint Hint!
Tory Burch - One word Hamptons...Tory stuck to what she is good at, Resort Wear! It looks good, sellable and approachable to everyone. Nothing exciting or new. Still very logo heavy and nice accessories line ( which is a big seller in fashion for the past 20 years). Love the outdoor venue but not moved by any particular piece. Super comfy collection for Spring/Summer 2018.
Stay tuned for my part 2! Coming soon!!

How Elite Lifestyle Cuisine come to be?
I have transferred the skills I learned in the bodybuilding arena to my latest company, Elite Lifestyle Cuisine. We are a value-based company that provides all natural, hormone free and antibiotic free food to customers nationwide. All of our meals are macro-nutrient balance and provide consumers with an affordable flash frozen meal which lets them enjoy gourmet healthy dinners in seven minutes or less. Our new supplements line, The Forever Juice Line, includes all-natural juices designed to aid with combatting energy deficiency, anti-aging, and full body detoxification. The supplement line also includes whole-food multiple vitamins and organic protein powders.
As a fellow Jerseyan, I would like to know How has your New Jersey upbringing influenced the Elite LifestyleCuisine brand?
To me, New Jersey is about family, community, – and great cooking. Always has been! And the Garden State has always been a land of opportunity for entrepreneurs. So it was only natural for me to create my company here. The food is inspired by my many experiences in New Jersey – and our retail center located in Fairview is a place where New Jersey family and friends come together for a good home-cooked meal
What makes Elite Lifestyle Cuisine different from other healthy meal delivery services?
There are many things that differentiate the ELC line from others. We like to think of our meals as delicious home cooked meals, like the kind you would have prepared yourself if you had time. But these meals are also fully calibrated to give you a healthy dose of vegetables, grains, and proteins. And the portions are larger than most prepared meals – which is good news for someone with a hearty appetite. The meals are cooked to order and delivered fresh weekly. And unlike other meal prep services, you don’t have to assemble and cook each entry – you literally have to put it in the microwave. Great for those busy summer evenings with the kids and their sports.
How did the collaboration between Chef Carlo Filippone and Laura Lee come to be?
Eating is all about health and well-being, and an added benefit for some is weight loss. But our company approaches to weight loss much differently than most. We embrace each individual – and we help them achieve their goals whether it is to eat right or lose some weight. We realized that Laura Lee’s approach dovetails so nicely with ours that we wanted to celebrate that with her in a special collaboration. We salute her for being such a great role model to others.
Let’s talk about body positivity. What steps would you suggest to my Heavy on Fashion start accepting one's body?
I would say plain and simple: Love Yourself. I know that sounds silly and I know it sounds like I may be minimizing just how hard it is to do that when you feel ostracized by others. But honestly, we have come a long way on that front. There are many body positive role models out there like Laura Lee. There are many body positive models for that matter. The conversation on social media has shifted from teasing and bullying to rallying around the idea that we should all celebrate who we are. I love it and support it.
How has healthy eating habits help with body accepting and body image?
Eating healthy is so important. We are learning more and more that it even has a direct effect on our mental well-being. It’s also a great natural confidence booster. So the focus of eating needs to shift from weight loss to healthy eating and acceptance. We are proud to be a part of that conversation.
I love food, my readers love food too but we both find it hard to eat healthy on a budget, what tips do you have to help with eating healthy on a budget?
Many people associate eating healthy with an increase in your weekly food budget. But then we might go out three or four times a week and spend money on drinks or take-out. With a little budget and meal planning, you can be a healthy eater without spending more. Add up all the money you currently spend in a week on food. Everything – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and drinks. Use that dollar amount to buy healthy groceries or healthy prepared meals and I promise, you will come in under budget! Challenge yourself to because it is a matter of your health and wellbeing.
How can Elite Lifestyle Cuisine help those dealing with this dilemma?
The obvious way we can help is by providing meals and protein drinks! But we can also help by providing valuable information about healthy eating which we do on our site! And we are always happy to answer questions on social media as well. For budgeting, we offer 10 meals for $100 for those on the go who don’t want to break their bank.
What are some realistic tips to starting and maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle?
Knowledge is power. Learn more about nutrition and what’s good for you. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can definitely be challenging in the beginning – and a big change in many people’s lives, but it’s well worth it. I’d say stick with it – don’t give up. Give yourself time adjusting and it’ll be easy before you know it. If you’re having a hard time eating healthy, spice it up – literally. The best thing to do if you’re not exactly a veggie lover is to find ways to enjoy eating them, that way you actually will.
What would you say is one of your favorite meals on the Elite Lifestyle Cuisine menu?
Hands down my turkey meatballs over brown rice. A little bit of an Italian flare but every bit a delicious, healthy and balanced meal of proteins and grains.
I would like to thank Carlo Filippone, CEO, and Founder of Elite Lifestyle Cuisine for this interview! Check out Elite Lifestyle Cusine at
Hello, all my divas and gurus! So sorry for the review delay. I am finally back to my blogging grind. Today, I want to bring you a look at one of my favorite tools I am using to get my life organized. I am a constant list maker. Unfortunately, I am constantly tearing out pages and wasting paper. Not eco-friendly all. So, when Wipenote hit me up about reviewing their dry erase notebook, it was a gift from the notebook goddess. WipeNote is a great travel size and durable.
I like using Wipenote as an ideal/goal board. While commuting, I have tons of ideas. Sometimes, I write on my phone but other times, I write in my Wipenote. Sometimes having a pen and a pad in my hand motivated me to write about substance and not check my social media pages. I also love the Wipenote for writing down my goals. My goals are constantly changing. I can move my properties and goal around without wasting sheets of paper for a misspelled words. The Wipenote is very practical and eco friendly.
I really think that the WipeNote is one of the best idea notebooks on the market. The Wipenote comes and several different styles and sizes. The price is comparable to Moleskin notebooks. The difference is between Moleskin and Wipenote is that you can use Wipenote over and over again. The $ 21.99 price tag for Wipenote is a one time fee! Just $21.99!

Hello, all my Divas and Gurus! I know it has been a while since I wrote on here. I am working on a permanent schedule for this blog. In the meantime, I will be sharing some exclusive Throwback photos of my time at events, fashion week, and more. This week is a look at Malan Breton F/W2017 Style Fashion Week show. I loved the styling and overall aesthetic of the collection.
Hello, all my divas and gurus. For many years, I keep Heavy on fashion blog as a fashion and beauty filled zone. I rarely talked about my personal life, goals, and struggles. Recently, my diagnosed depression, anxiety and PTSD is affecting my life and my blogs. It has been extremely hard to be myself. Writing has been out of the question for the past few years. Now, I had depression, anxiety, and PTSD since I was 17. This has caused me to have many ups and downs. Since November 2016, I have found myself more down than up and less willing to make an effort to write. At first, I thought it was that I was no longer being fulfilled from writing on Heavy on Fashion, Just Malanb and Milan Malan Word on the Street. The truth is I was not in a good mental space. Recently, I had to take serious time to reroute my goals and my health to a better place. I know that having depression, PTSD and anxiety is a factor. I realized that I can only control what I can control.
So here is the new declaration for Heavy on Fashion
Heavy on fashion will not just focus on just Fashion, Books, and Beauty but also Self-care, mental health, and weight loss. I will post once a week, most likely every Sunday. This is not a consistent schedule but I make an effort. No promises.
All of my upcoming posts, my favs of the moment and more will be featured on my Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/heavyonfashion/
All my Throwback Thursday youtube video, raw video footage, and photos throughout the years on Heavy on fashion Tumblr blog at http://heavyonfashion.tumblr.com/
I am working on a vlog which will probably be a weekly update on what coming on the site on my Heavy on Fashion Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HeavyonFashion/ (most likely on Wednesday)
I do not know when I would like to start these new post on the site. I am gearing for the beginning of September. In the meantime, check back for some book reviews, interviews and more on Heavy on Fashion.
Hello, all my fashion divas and gurus! Usually, I post the annual Heavy on Fashion New Year New You list. This year is different. The election of a "man" that lost the popular vote and pandered to exclusion of people of the United States, has changed me. It has changed the site. The People of the United States are dealing with a government that does not reflect their ideas of what liberty and justice for All really mean.Read More
We all knew that 2017 would be a struggle since the results of the election. No one knew how low this so called puppet president and his puppeteer Bannon would go to cause chaos, hate and discord in the world. I knew it would be horrible but I didn't know how much of a mental toll this would take on me. So, I decided to get back to blogging. Don't get it twisted, I am going to talk about any and every way we all can fight against this dangerous administration. Heavy on fashion will not be just about reviews, events and gift guides but also how we all can make this a better place for all people. And I do mean all people.
Welcome to the new Heavy on Fashion!
Yesterday, I was so proud of the turn out of the #WomensMarch that it inspired me to bring over my poetry that focuses on Social Justice and the current climate of the 2017 political world over to Heavy on Fashion. I love bringing you all great tech, beauty products review, books reviews, NYFW and gift guides. In 2017, I feel it is also time to bring in a bit of myself and my views on the world that we all live in. Starting today, I will bring in snippets of my Just MalanB Tumblr page- http://justmalanb.tumblr.com/.Read More
