So without further ado, This is Heavy on fashion reads - FAT GIRL WALKING: Sex, Food, Love, and Being Comfortable in Your Skin…Every Inch of It by Brittany Gibbons a.k.a Brittany Herself

When I first started to read FAT GIRL WALKING, I was not expecting to be so emotionally invested in this memoir. Many of Brittany's personal journeys in life had many similarities to my own. Emotionally, I was taken to a place that I haven't been in quite some time. This book is a book full of life lessons, self-acceptance, and real love.

FAT GIRL WALKING is a book of lessons, laughter, and some of the best comebacks I have ever read in a while. I just wanted to point out some of my favorite lessons in Fat Girl Walking

Self Love
Brittany journey to loving herself is remarkable and realistic. Everyone talks about loving the skin your in but Brittany really put her entire journey into perspective. This lesson of loving yourself is something that I am practicing. Being in a world that looks at only one image of beauty while trying to find yourself as beautiful is tough but possible.

Anxiety
Now I was diagnosed PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety in high school so I could totally relate to the Brittany's struggle with anxiety, especially in college. For years, I was unable to express how it is to have anxiety to others but Brittany gives a great example how anxiety affects her. Maybe one day I will talk about how my PTSD and anxiety is affecting my world.

Hilarious
From the childhood stories to dealing with the media, Brittany has some witty and hilarious tidbits that I only wished that I can come up with in my life. I am typically the person who thinks of the badass comebacks a day late and a dollar short. The hilarious wit displayed in this book literally had me laughing out loud. Brittany's personality that is seen on her blog fits the book format perfectly.

The only part that I could not really relate to was involving motherhood. I am not a mom. I am a great aunt but I am not a mother.  Many of those lessons were lost on me but I did enjoy the knowledge bombs dropped. If my husband and I ever adopt I will take some of these tips into consideration.

All in all, I was surprised the emotional impact this book had on me. There are not many books that will make me stop reading because I became too emotional. Many events in this book hit very close to my own life. There are so many lessons in this book. I dare not state them all. I would suggest everyone who has ever felt different, has a crazy family, and trying to figure out life in the most realistic way to check out FAT GIRL WALKING: Sex, Food, Love, and Being Comfortable in Your Skin…Every Inch of It at http://www.harpercollins.com/9780062343031/fat-girl-walking
