Heavy on Fashion Talks to Elite Lifestyle Cuisine

Hello, all my Fashion Divas and gurus! This is another interview that was lost in the blog move from Squarespace back to Blogger. Unfortunately, I also lost the photos and Elite Lifestyle Cuisine is no more but you get to read about Elite Lifestyle Cuisine. Chef Carlo Filippone does have a new brand called The Chicken Pound at https://thechickenpound.com/

How did Elite Lifestyle Cuisine come to be?

I have transferred the skills I learned in the bodybuilding arena to my latest company, Elite Lifestyle Cuisine. We are a value-based company that provides all-natural, hormone-free, and antibiotic-free food to customers nationwide. All of our meals are macro-nutrient balance and provide consumers with an affordable flash-frozen meal that lets them enjoy gourmet healthy dinners in seven minutes or less. Our new supplements line, The Forever Juice Line, includes all-natural juices designed to aid with combatting energy deficiency, anti-aging, and full-body detoxification. The supplement line also includes whole-food multiple vitamins and organic protein powders.

As a fellow Jerseyan, I would like to know How has your New Jersey upbringing influenced the Elite LifestyleCuisine brand?

To me, New Jersey is about family, community, – and great cooking. Always has been! And the Garden State has always been a land of opportunity for entrepreneurs. So it was only natural for me to create my company here. The food is inspired by my many experiences in New Jersey – and our retail center located in Fairview is a place where New Jersey family and friends come together for a good home-cooked meal

What makes Elite Lifestyle Cuisine different from other healthy meal delivery services?

Many things differentiate the ELC line from others. We like to think of our meals as delicious home-cooked meals, like the kind you would have prepared yourself if you had time. But these meals are also fully calibrated to give you a healthy dose of vegetables, grains, and proteins. And the portions are larger than most prepared meals – which is good news for someone with a hearty appetite. The meals are cooked to order and delivered fresh weekly. And unlike other meal prep services, you don’t have to assemble and cook each entry – you literally have to put it in the microwave. Great for those busy summer evenings with the kids and their sports.

How did the collaboration between Chef Carlo Filippone and Laura Lee come to be?

Eating is all about health and well-being, and an added benefit for some is weight loss. But our company approaches weight loss much differently than most. We embrace each individual – and we help them achieve their goals whether it is to eat right or lose some weight. We realized that Laura Lee’s approach dovetails so nicely with ours that we wanted to celebrate that with her in a special collaboration. We salute her for being such a great role model to others.

Let’s talk about body positivity. What steps would you suggest to my Heavy on Fashion to start accepting one's body?

I would say plain and simple: Love Yourself. I know that sounds silly and I know it sounds like I may be minimizing just how hard it is to do that when you feel ostracized by others. But honestly, we have come a long way on that front. There are many body-positive role models out there like Laura Lee. There are many body-positive models for that matter. The conversation on social media has shifted from teasing and bullying to rallying around the idea that we should all celebrate who we are. I love it and support it.

How have healthy eating habits help with body acceptance and body image?

Eating healthy is so important. We are learning more and more that it even has a direct effect on our mental well-being. It’s also a great natural confidence booster. So the focus of eating needs to shift from weight loss to healthy eating and acceptance. We are proud to be a part of that conversation.

I love food, my readers love food too but we both find it hard to eat healthy on a budget, what tips do you have to help with eating healthy on a budget?

Many people associate eating healthy with an increase in your weekly food budget. But then we might go out three or four times a week and spend money on drinks or take-out. With a little budget and meal planning, you can be a healthy eater without spending more. Add up all the money you currently spend in a week on food. Everything – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks. Use that dollar amount to buy healthy groceries or healthy prepared meals and I promise, you will come in under budget! Challenge yourself to because it is a matter of your health and wellbeing.

How can Elite Lifestyle Cuisine help those dealing with this dilemma?

The obvious way we can help is by providing meals and protein drinks! But we can also help by providing valuable information about healthy eating which we do on our site! And we are always happy to answer questions on social media as well. For budgeting, we offer 10 meals for $100 for those on the go who don’t want to break their bank.

What are some realistic tips for starting and maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle?

Knowledge is power. Learn more about nutrition and what’s good for you. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can definitely be challenging in the beginning – and a big change in many people’s lives, but it’s well worth it. I’d say stick with it – don’t give up. Give yourself time adjusting and it’ll be easy before you know it. If you’re having a hard time eating healthy, spice it up – literally. The best thing to do if you’re not exactly a veggie-lover is to find ways to enjoy eating them, that way you actually will.

What would you say is one of your favorite meals on the Elite Lifestyle Cuisine menu?

Hands down my turkey meatballs over brown rice. A little bit of an Italian flare but every bit is a delicious, healthy, and balanced meal of proteins and grains.
