Update of Heavy on Fashion
Hello my divas and gurus! So it's been a minute since I have written on Heavy on Fashion and posted on the podcast. Okay, let's finally get down to business on the podcast and the blog. There have been so many changes, not just to the brand but also to my life. Let's get down to it.
The Heavy on Fashion Podcast
I was using a fantastic app called Anchor when I started the podcast. Podcasters could record and edit podcast episodes from their phones with this easy-to-use app. It was incredible. Inviting guests to participate in podcast interviews was also quite simple. According to reports, Spotify acquired Anchor for $140 million in 2019.
The Anchor app evolved into Spotify for Creatives, and Riverside now manages many of Anchor's features. The abilities to create great content on Spotify for Creatives are not suitable for me. I do not like Riverside and the potential cost connected to it. Only two hours of free recordings are available on the platform. After that, there is a cost. Inviting guests to Riverside is a hassle. I had constant connection and recording issues. I loved the Anchor app, but I do not like the Spotify for Creators platform. Sadly Spotify for creatives is not a good fit for me or the future of Heavy on Fashion.
Today, I'm in the process of switching to a new platform. It's been quite the journey of finding and now migrating all of my prior interviews and episodes over. It is a lot of work, so please be patient; I will make an announcement when this entire process is done.
In the meantime, I am recording individual episodes. I will be posting on my YouTube channels (Heavy on Fashion and Heavy on Fashion Life Podcast) and exclusive episodes on Kofi:
https://ko-fi.com/heavyonfashion. I'll discuss shopping deals, books, family-related topics, fashion news, pop culture, music, community news, and more. I will be posting at least once to twice a month.
The Heavy on Fashion Blog & Social Media
The blog is still running strong. As the podcast is going through a big change right now, I will be doing written interviews on the blog. When I started Heavy on Fashion, I started with a blog and some thoughts. I have been very fortunate to be able to attend various NYFW shows and presentations before influencers were called influencers. We were bloggers running around in late 2000s/2010s wedge platforms and business attire. What a time!
Now that I am a single mom in 2026, I feel like I need to reduce where I post content in order to be more consistent and present. So below is where you will find new content starting today. I will be on other platforms, but I will be really focusing on the platforms below. The landscape of social media has changed. AI and curated content are being pushed. For me, I want to really push a different look and vibe. A vibe that is more authentic to me now. It is time to refocus and concentrate on my vision for my brand and myself. I am so excited to go all out this blogging cycle.
